Racing is Racing, but nothing is FREE
At the moment, my schedule is so full, I don't even have time to build racecars and go racing on the weekends. But my son reminds me that Kapu Racing MUST show face at the local track, and try to put on our best showing. So my son finds a "FREE" bomber car and we take a weekend out of my busy schedule to convert this FREE Chevy Celebrity into a racecar. We took this Chevy Celebrity with it's 6 cylinder, front wheel drive and installed hood pins, a battery switch per the rules, took out all the glass, installed a fire extinguisher and installed screen on the front and drivers window. I even took the time to remove the front spoiler and installed it on the rear trunk so it "looks" like a NASCAR wing! Now we are ready to race in the mud. Come race day we flat towed the "racecar" down to Hilo Oval Dirt Track to register and get the car tech checked. Well to make a long day of racing into a short story, we ran three heats, came in second and blew-up the head gasket and burnt third and reverse gear in the trans. Time to look for something else to build and race by next month.
