Remove the hood, lift the engine very, very high in the air, now aim and drop it in! |
This is the first time I have seen an engine in the 280Z, I got the car without an engine. The front end sure does sit low with the extra weight up front. |
I wish I had real sponsors. But the buck stops in my back pocket. |
OK, so I was hoping I could just pull the bolts on the exhaust manifold off and snake the manifold out from under the intake. |
Well first off, the gasket was all one piece, so both intake and exhaust had to be pulled. The good news, I now have more room to install the headers correctly. |
The headers are installed! I have had headers in every hot rod I have ever built. These cheap headers had a bolt hole which was miss drilled by the factory. I had to redrill the hole to mount the headers on right. |
A new polished chrome valve cover was installed because everyone knows it makes the car go a lot faster. The tower brace had to be shimmed up to clear the valve cover. |
My battery switch is installed right next to the battery. This will disconnect the battery during those long weeks between races. |
As you can see in the lower left corner of the picture, my race car is powered by Coke! |
One more sticker added to the hood, "CRAFTSMAN". I only buy Craftsmans tools if I can help it. |
