Project Datsun 280Z

Stage 6

Racing rubber on aluminum wheels. The
tires have been mounted and balanced.

The tire folks who mounted them for me
noted that each tire/wheel was really
light in weight.

The lead added to balance the tire is
taped on the inside of the wheel!

The Beast is back from the paint shop.
I hate doing body work because I can
never decide if the finish product is
smooth enough or not.

The Hawaii winter weather, mostly rain,
did slow down the progress on the body
work. But I had to just pick a day, stop
the body work and send the car out to
the paint shop.

It looks good from far, but it's far from
good. The paint has drips and overspray,
and the body does not have a stright line
on it at all, but it's time to throw the race
parts in and start racing!

I need to let the new paint "breath" for two
weeks before I can slap on the stickers. But
I can work on dropping the engine and trans
back into the engine bay.

Now it's time for the graphic's to be designed
and installed. The team purchased a vinly cutter
and is busy at work making stickers for the race
car.

What better than to start of with the tean name
accross the front of our car?

You grab your pit crew, break out the engine lift,
hook-up the engine, lift and spin!
